Although it has been an incredible amount of hard work, I have found the sport of Schutzhund to be very rewarding. It's a great way to bond with your dog, it's an excellent workout for you both and it just further exhibits how smart our dogs are. Practicing in the sport of Schutzhund helps increase you and your dog's physical and mental endurance as this sport is a test of both! Furthermore, the development you experience as you grow in the sport is rewarding once you get through it. And lastly the best part is seeing the development of your dog and the ultimate prize: Titling!!!
Schutzhund clubs are an excellent way to get exposure to this sport. Not only do you learn from others and create friendships and build comraderie, if you have a competitive spirit Schutzhund can be a great outlet for you.
